Laid out along the banks of the River Vartry, Mount Usher has been designed in the Robinsonian style. Trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants have been introduced from all parts of the globe and are planted in harmony with woodland and shade loving plants.
Like all the great gardens of Ireland, Mount Usher offers varying pleasures at different seasons of the year. Rhododendrons in Spring, a blaze of Summer colour and the wistful tints of Autumn, all elegantly set off by the crystal waters of the river.
Brittas Bay is one of the finest beaches on the East Coast. Brittas Bay has a 5km stretch of beautiful white sand dunes and clean beaches. This beach has won a European Union (EU) Blue Flag for five consecutive years. With no headlands to interfere with the peaceful rhythm, it is ideal for bathing, sailing and walking.
Brittas has a 2mile/3.2km stretch of powdery sand and sand dune system which is a designated area of significant interest. The dunes are home to many interesting wildlife species and plants, including a number of rare species.
Glendalough is a remarkable place that will still your mind, inspire your heart and fill your soul.Glendalough has long been an area renowned for its natural beauty and history and it is one of the most visited places in Ireland.
The Glendalough Valley is located in the Wicklow Mountains National Park and has many attractions to entice, entertain and enthral visitors, from its world famous Monastic Site with Round Tower (pictured to the right) to its scenic lakes and valleys, as well as a selection of walks and trails in the area including The Wicklow Way.
We are located near the racecourses – Leopardstown 36km, Punchestown 73km. Both Leopardstown and Punchestown Racecourse can indeed proudly claim to be one of Europe’s premier racetracks attracting hundreds of thousands of punters each year.
Both Leopardstown and Punchestown racecourses are great venues to have a punt, enjoy some dinner with friends, perhaps a glass of wine and enjoy the atmosphere.
Dublin City is easily accessible by bus or train based public transport. Perhaps site seeing is your forte? Then why not visit Dublin and see all Dublin has to offer, regardless of what your interests are Dublin is sure to have something to suit you.
If shopping is your therapy however then visit the Bridgewater centre in Arklow located only a short drive from our accomodation which sports a variety of leading brand name stores.
